Veterans Day

So grateful for my dad and all the Veterans who serve and have served in the United States military.  Thank you!

My dad spent 20 years in the Army (with a couple in the Navy), and I’m proud to call myself an Army Brat.  I still don’t know where to call ‘home’, but I’m okay with that.

Happy Father’s Day

Looking back through my blog entries from May, I don’t think I ever blogged about Mother’s Day.  So, now that Father’s Day is upon us, I hadn’t really planned on blogging about it either.

However, I want to say thank you to all fathers… especially to the ones who really do care about and for their children.  You know who you are… my dad, my grandpa, and my husband come to mind — not to mention brothers-in-law, cousins, uncles, and countless friends who are wonderful dads!

So, to all you dads out there… Happy Father’s Day!

Step into Summer!

Step Into SummerOne of my favorite summer vacations is the time my husband and I went to New Mexico the first full summer after we married.  At the time, we lived in the HOT Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, so we really enjoyed the temps getting down into the 50’s (Fahrenheit) at night in the mountains near Santa Fe.  It was hard to leave the cool, dry mountains to return to hot, humid DFW!
